Senior Exploration Geophysicist (Budapest, Hungary)

On behalf of a Client, I am looking for an experienced Senior Exploration Geophysicist to support exploration and appraisal activities, primarily in the Pannonian Basin.

The role focuses on high-quality seismic interpretation, prospect maturation and integrated subsurface understanding, contributing directly to technically sound, de-risked exploration decisions.

Key responsibilities

 • 2D/3D seismic interpretation including horizons, faults, facies and stratigraphy
 • Seismic stratigraphic analysis, AVO/AVA and attribute interpretation
 • Lead and prospect generation and geological risk assessment
 • Volumetric evaluations and support of drilling decisions
 • QC of seismic processing workflows (velocity models, PSDM, FWI)
 • Integration of seismic, well, core and petrophysical data
 • Preparation of technical reports and management-level presentations

Requirements

 • MSc or PhD in Geophysics, Geoscience, Geology or Petroleum Geoscience
 • Minimum 15 years of experience in exploration geophysics
 • Strong hands-on background in seismic interpretation and prospect evaluation
 • Experience with 3D seismic datasets in complex basins
 • Proficiency in Petrel or Kingdom
 • Experience with Pannonian / Miocene systems is a strong advantage
 • Strong technical English, written and spoken
